People pay tribute to legendary emperor Huangdi

A ceremony paying homage to Huangdi, or the Yellow Emperor, who is regarded as one of the common ancestors for all Chinese, is held at the Mausoleum of Huangdi in Huangling county, northwest China's Shaanxi province, April 5, 2019, on the occasion of the Qingming Festival.[Photo/Xinhua]

Around 10,000 people attended a ceremony in Huangling county, northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Thursday to pay homage to Huangdi, also known as the Yellow Emperor.

The ceremony has been a tradition on Tomb-sweeping Day, which falls on April 5 this year. Chinese mourn their deceased family members on the holiday.
