Shanghai closes inter-provincial busing, metro

Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission announced on Sunday that all inter-provincial passenger bus services in the city has been suspended indefinitely.
The city's transportation administrators are also working with public security staff to launch detection checkpoints at entrances and exits of the city. All local enterprises that violate regulations will be punished severely, the announcement said.
The inter-provincial section of Metro Line 11, which links Huaqiao in Jiangsu province to Anting in Shanghai, has also been suspended starting at 1 pm on Sunday. The line is the country's first inter-provincial metro. The time when the transport service will be resumed is uncertain.
