Xi Jinping Thought a breakthrough in adapting Marxism to Chinese context

Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era represents a new breakthrough in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context, said Wang Xiaohui, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The remarks were made at a news conference held by the 19th CPC Central Committee on Friday to introduce the guiding principles of its sixth plenary session.
Wang said that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is a major theoretical achievement that combines the basic principles of Marxism with China's actual conditions and the fine traditional Chinese culture.
It's an important theoretical outcome of historic achievements and historic changes since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, he said.
The thought made a new leap in understanding the rules governing the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics, pointed out a new vision of China's modernization, and opened up a new realm for the supervision, governance and development of the Party.
It put forward a series of original new ideas, new thoughts and new strategies of governing the country, he added.
The four-day session concluded on Thursday with the release of a communique.
It also adopted a landmark resolution on the major achievements and historical experience of the CPC's 100 years of endeavors.
