Developing Cyberspace Force crucial for network protection

China's Defense Ministry said on Friday night that developing the Cyberspace Force is important for promptly detecting and countering network intrusions.
Wu Qian, the ministry spokesman, made the remarks in response to the role that the Cyberspace Force plays.
"Cyber security remains a global challenge and poses a severe threat to China," he said.
Developing the Cyberspace Force and cybersecurity and defense means they are important for reinforcing national cyber border defense, promptly detecting and countering network intrusions and maintaining national cyber sovereignty and information security, said Wu.
"We actively advocate building a cyberspace featuring peace, security, openness and cooperation," he said.
"We are committed to working with the international community to jointly build a community with a shared future in cyberspace," the spokesman added.
