Recently, the first social security card in Qingdao with a foreigner's work permit integrated was successfully issued in Qingdao, alongside the issuance of an electronic social security card. This signifies the comprehensive implementation of the integration of foreigner work permits and social security cards in Qingdao.
By putting foreigner work permit information onto the social security card, leveraging physical and electronic social security cards, convenience is provided for foreigners working and living in China.
The new version of the integrated social security card issued in Qingdao has three basic functions:
1. Serving as an identity credential for foreign nationals working in Qingdao, replacing the original paper work permit;
2. Loading various services in human resources and social security, supporting procedures such as insurance registration, personal pension management, and subsidy disbursement;
3. Enabling access to essential services such as medical treatment, transportation, cultural tourism, and financial transactions, allowing foreign cardholders to enjoy the same convenient services as Qingdao residents through the "resident service universal card".
Currently, Bank of Communications, the Agricultural Bank of China, and Qingdao Rural Commercial Bank have conducted tests for issuing the new version of the integrated social security card through the "certificate-card integration", providing related services to foreigners working in Qingdao.
Qingdao will promote the integration of foreigner work permits with social security cards, expanding and enriching the application scenarios of the social security card "universal card" while ensuring efficient issuance services. This initiative aims to provide more convenient and efficient services for foreigners living in Qingdao.
