BRICS partners sign 12 projects worth $4b at matchmaking event in Beijing

Thembi Mbatha, operations director of the South African company Tsotha Supply Services, said that she is seeing a very strong bond being created between companies in South Africa and China, specifically in the fields such as medical care, mining, and innovation technologies.
"We are taking those contacts back to South Africa, so we can match-make for those companies that couldn't come here, making sure that we are creating deeper partnerships with Chinese companies."
Kang Hubiao, chairman of Genertec International, said that the BRICS countries are highly complementary. China's production capacity, high-tech products such as the "new three" products of lithium batteries, solar cells and electric vehicles, and technological equipment are in high demand among BRICS countries.
Meanwhile, China needs raw materials, agricultural products, and market access from its BRICS partners, he said, adding that these are the key areas that should be focused on.
