Xi's speech at CIIE draws positive reactions

Andy Ho, CEO of Royal Philips China
I am thrilled about President Xi's speech at the ceremony, and a few key takeaways especially resonated with me.
First of all, I am grateful and appreciative to learn President Xi's confirmation of broadened market access and an even better business environment to promote globalization. Philips' business strategy is fully in line with President Xi's commitment, especially further opening up the medical industry.
Secondly, I cannot agree more with President Xi's vision on China's innovation-based, high-quality development. Innovation is in Philips' DNA. We are confident we will integrate Philips' innovative technologies with China local needs and insights. Together, we grow stronger.
Operating in China for over 30 years, we have great faith in China's economic and social development. Under the leadership of President Xi, China is fulfilling its commitments step by step. CIIE, a free trade platform, is a great example that demonstrates China's confidence and leadership. Also, we have seen great support from local governments who are facilitating company collaborations. As such, we are more confident than ever in China's continuous prosperity under President Xi's leadership. We will continue to take root in China, furthering multilateral development and globalization.
With the first CIIE taking place in Shanghai, we once again witness the city's openness and inclusion. Philips China is headquartered in Shanghai, and I personally live and work here as well. I am happy and proud to be in this city.
