Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning on Wednesday urged the European Union to provide Chinese enterprises with a fair, transparent, and non-discriminatory business environment and create favorable conditions for China-EU economic and trade cooperation.
When commenting on the report that the EU plans to impose flat fees on small parcels sent directly to Europe, which mainly come from China, Mao said at a daily news briefing that for specific details, it is advisable to consult the relevant Chinese authorities.
"China has always believed that fostering an open and inclusive international trade environment serves the common interests of all parties," Mao said, hoping that the EU would honor its commitment to openness.
